Ben Davies says Juan Foyth is one of the hardest workers in Tottenham training

Foyth scored the only goal of the game as Spurs beat Crystal Palace on Saturday.

Ben Davies has told Tottenham Hotspur’s official Twitter account that Juan Foyth has worked as hard as anybody on the training ground since moving to Spurs, and it is beginning to pay off.

The 20-year-old defender scored the only goal of the game on Saturday evening as Spurs beat Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park to remain in fourth place, behind Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester City.

Foyth was a surprise inclusion in Mauricio Pochettino’s starting eleven after he conceded two penalties last time out in Spurs’ 3-2 win away at Wolverhampton Wanderers.

But he was assured and confident in his second ever Premier League appearance on Saturday and added a goal to round off an excellent display. Davies was full of praise for the Argentina youth international.

“He’s been one of the hardest workers in training for the last year and a half, since he arrived and he’s come on leaps and bounds,” Davies said. “You can see from the celebrations how happy the boys were to see him score.”

Foyth managed just eight appearances last season, with the majority coming in the FA Cup and Carabao Cup after joining the club from Argentine side Estudiantes for a fee believed to be in the region of £8million (Daily Mail).

Now with two Premier League appearances under his belt, Foyth is in search of his first senior Argentina cap after joining Erik Lamela and Paulo Gazzaniga in the squad to face Mexico twice over the next international break.
