Ben Davies on what Tottenham Hotspur now realise about Arsenal

Tottenham Hotspur are due to take on Arsenal in the League Cup on Wednesday evening.

Tottenham Hotspur defender Ben Davies has admitted to the London Evening Standard that his side know how good Arsenal are now.

Tottenham took on Arsenal earlier this month, and were beaten 4-2 at the Emirates Stadium.

On that occasion the Gunners performed above expectations, as they appeared to outfight Tottenham and claim the three points in the North London derby.

Tottenham and Arsenal are now set to meet again on Wednesday evening in the League Cup.

And Davies said: “We realise how a good a side they are and I’m sure the manager will get us prepared tactically this week by looking at videos.

“But he won’t have to get us prepared mentally for it because we’ll all be up for it.”

Spurs are desperate to end their wait for silverware, and if they can get past Arsenal the League Cup may offer them their best chance of lifting a major trophy since 2008.

Arsenal will be determined to stop their rivals though, as Tottenham have begun to sneak ahead of them again in the Premier League.

Spurs have moved five points clear of Arsenal in the league standings, and are back as the top club in London.

Spurs go into the North London derby on the back of a win over Burnley, while Arsenal were beaten by Southampton at the weekend.
