Some Liverpool fans have taken to Twitter to give their reaction to The Athletic’s report about Ben Davies joining Sheffield United.
What’s the story?
Liverpool announced yesterday that they have sent Davies on loan to United.
The 26-year-old central defender has joined the Blades on a season-long loan deal.
Davies moved to Liverpool from Preston North End in the January transfer window.
The Englishman, who can also play as a left-back, was brought in amid the injury problems that Liverpool had at the time.
However, Davies failed to make a single competitive appearance for Jurgen Klopp’s side.
And now, the defender has moved to United in the Championship.

Financial details
The Athletic have reported that United have no option to make Davies’s loan deal permanent.
The Blades will pay the former Premier League champions £500,000 upfront as loan fee.

If the Yorkshire club win promotion to the Premier League at the end of the season, then they will pay Liverpool an addition £500,000.
Sky Sports reported in February 2021 that Liverpool paid £500,000 upfront for Davies.
The report added that Preston could receive add-ons totalling up to £1.1m.

What are Liverpool fans saying?
As you can see from the tweets below, some Liverpool fans are praising the club’s sporting director Michael Edwards for the loan deal he has struck regarding Davies.
