Ben Davies has reportedly extended his stay at Tottenham Hotspur as he prepares for the upcoming Premier League campaign.
Tottenham Hotspur may not have signed any players during the previous two transfer windows, but one thing the stubborn Daniel Levy does best is that he ensures the ship at White Hart Lane is running as smoothly as it can.
That’s exactly what he has done in the transfer market once again for Tottenham as left-back Ben Davies is seemingly on the verge of extending his stay at the club.
The Daily Mail have claimed that Davies is close to agreeing to a five-year contract at the North London club, with the Welshman initially joining Spurs in 2014.
When Davies first joined Tottenham, he produced nowhere near the performances he puts in now because he did struggle to even cement his place in the starting XI.
Whilst Danny Rose was rising under Mauricio Pochettino’s stewardship, Davies was struggling as a back-up, and even at times being mocked for his performances.
But the 26-year-old stuck at it and has transformed himself into one of the best players in Tottenham’s team, and one of the most underrated players in the Premier League.
The supposed call by Levy to extended Davies’ stay is a quite brilliant one as Spurs’ season summer transfer window is going from strength to strength.
They have already captured the services of midfield powerhouse Tanguy Ndombele, as well as youngster Jack Clarke, but dare it be said extending the futures of the current players is even more important?
There’s no do doubt that Davies deserves his contract extension because he has pushed Danny Rose off that left-back perch and made it his own recently.
