Leicester City defender Ben Chilwell has praised Aston Villa star Jack Grealish for his heroics on Sunday.

Grealish was Aston Villa’s hero yesterday as the 23-year-old scored the goal which led his side to a 1-0 victory over Second City rivals Birmingham City at St Andrew’s.

To make the win even sweeter for Villa, the Villans midfielder was earlier punched by a Birmingham fan, who has been issued a lifetime ban by the club.

And the £50 million-rated [The Mirror] Leicester star, who played with Grealish for England Under-21s, said the goal ‘made him so happy’.

It really was a massive goal for Aston Villa because the win not only took them above Birmingham City into ninth in the Championship table, but Dean Smith’s side are now only four points off the playoff positions.

Grealish only returned to action last Saturday following a three-month absence.

His comeback seems to have rejuvenated the Villans, who thumped Derby County 4-0 last week, with Grealish scoring one of the goals of the season that day.
