Lukasz Fabianski has opened up the West Ham United club website on what was discussed in the dressing room at half-time as David Moyes’ men edged Wolves to win 1-0 on Sunday.
The Hammers faced Bruno Lage’s side at the London Stadium in a clash of two sides eying Champions League qualification. Wolves had moved into the mix for a top-four finish with a strong run of form through 2022 so far. While the Irons have endured a tricky spell of late.
Just two-points separated West Ham in sixth and seventh-place Wolves, but having played a game more, going into the weekend. The Irons also trailed Manchester United in fourth by four-points on even games, having won one of their prior five Premier League matches.

West Ham seemed set for another frustrating afternoon by half-time at home to Wolves. Declan Rice came closest to breaking the deadlock for the Irons when his long-range strike hit the post. But Tomas Soucek found the opener on 59-minutes with the would-be winner.
Jarrod Bowen would then strike a shot straight at Jose Sa with a chance to double the lead. Yet Wolves would not make the winger rue his miss, as the Hammers held firm to see out a one-goal lead. The win enough to move the Irons into fifth, two-points from the Red Devils.
Fabianski claims West Ham shared confidence to score vs Wolves in half-time talk
Fabianski has now opened up on what West Ham discussed at half-time whilst they sought the go-ahead goal against Wolves. The Poland goalkeeper claims Moyes’ men shared their belief that an opening would fall their way, so long as they kept up their first-half work.
“In our half-time talk, we were pleased with the way we performed in the first-half,” said Fabianski. “Obviously, we were not able to score a goal. But I think the belief was that, if we continued to play like we did in the first-half, we were going to get another chance.

“We managed to get one and put it away. So, we’re happy with the result against a very good opponent. In general, I think we can be quite happy.”
West Ham attempted eight shots during the first-half against Wolves on Sunday, but with just two on target, per WhoScored. Five different players tried their luck yet failed to test Sa. But Soucek would find the breakthrough with one of West Ham’s five second-half hits.
Again, accuracy proved thin for the Hammers, though, with only two on target to three hit wide. Moyes also had to rely on the Irons’ defenders standing up, having recorded eight blocks as Wolves struck 11 second-half shots in their unsuccessful search for an equaliser.
