Belgian striker Benito Raman has spoken about rejecting Aston Villa. The 21-year-old has been speaking about his upcoming clash with his former team K.A.A Gent. He joined Standard Liege this summer, after falling out at Gent and spending time on loan with Sint-Truiden last season.
He has been a hit at Standard, scoring five goals in 11 appearances since his move to the club.

In the past he has been linked to Aston Villa. Back in 2012 it was reported by Voetbal Belgie that Aston Villa, Inter Milan, Hoffenheim and Club Brugge were all keen on the player.
He has been speaking to Het Laatste Nieuws this week ahead of the big game and spoke about his decision not to join Aston Villa when he was younger:
“When I was 15, I could have chosen the financial aspect.
“Clubs like Aston Villa, Inter Milan and Lille wanted me. But I wanted to breakthrough with Gent.
“Everything went well up to the title. The following season, after spending 14 years in Ghent, I had to pack my bags.”
Raman is certainly a player that a team like Aston Villa should be keeping tabs on now.

He is still only just 21-years-old and his form for his new team is certainly something to get excited about.
Aston Villa have changed a lot since then but if Raman keeps up his form, perhaps Villa should revisit their old files.
