Even the Belgian press have raved about Aston Villa midfielder Jack Grealish.

The Villa playmaker was selected to start for his country last night, as they were beaten 2-0 by Roberto Martinez’s side.

Grealish impressed highly with his display though, as he dictated his side’s attacking play.

And even Nieuwsblad could not help but rave about the Villa midfielder in their match report after the game.

“Jack Grealish, a 25-year-old cult football player from Aston Villa, was allowed to start in his first competitive international match for England,” they wrote.

“The attacker with sagging socks did not miss his entrance on the international stage.

“He kept the Belgian defenders talking and could occasionally embarrass them. The trio Toby Alderweireld-Jason Denayer-Jan Vertonghen had to pull out all the stops to keep Grealish and Harry Kane out of the box.”

For Grealish to be attraction attention from the England press is one thing, but the Belgium media to be so complimentary about him really proves just how high a quality performance he put in.

The Villa man is enjoying arguably the best spell of form of his career to date, with his performances really catching the eye.

Grealish was even praised publicly by Gareth Southgate, and now seems to have established a role for himself in the Three Lions’ starting line-up.

Grealish will surely feature again for England later this week, when they take on Iceland in their final fixture of the international break.
