Liam Rosenior will be keen to put his own stamp on the Chelsea squad following Enzo Maresca’s exit.

The Chelsea board did not exactly make things easy for Maresca, with reports emerging of various disagreements during his time in charge.

According to one report, there was friction with the medical staff after Maresca went against their advice regarding Cole Palmer’s fitness.

It is possible to understand both perspectives. If Palmer was not fully fit, it made sense not to take unnecessary risks, but ultimately those calls fall to the player and manager.

Rosenior will likely face similar challenges during his time at Stamford Bridge. But for now, he seems to be settling in well, already making his first request.

Calum McFarlane chosen as Liam Rosenior’s assistant at Chelsea

There has been a lot of debate over who should join Liam Rosenior’s coaching staff, and the decision has finally been made.

Calum McFarlane has impressed many with his steadying influence following Enzo Maresca’s departure, highlighted by how Chelsea responded in their 1-1 draw against Manchester City.

John Terry spoke highly of McFarlane, having seen his work up close at the club, so the move makes sense from that standpoint.

Rosenior was at the root of it all. Having been impressed by McFarlane’s performance, Chelsea’s new manager requested him as his new assistant manager, according to The Daily Mail.
