Dele Alli has insisted that he is hurting after Tottenham Hotspur lost to Manchester United on Sunday, as per his comments on his own Instagram.
Alli has barely featured for Tottenham of late, with Jose Mourinho continuing to overlook the England international.
Alli was once again left on the bench for Spurs, as they were downed 3-1 at the weekend.
But Alli insists that he was not happy with the result, which could push Jose Mourinho closer to the exit door.
“Don’t think I’m not hurting because we didn’t win yesterday because I am. Just to make that clear before people start speaking nonsense,” he said.
At this point it is hard to see why Mourinho continues to refuse to use Alli.
The 25-year-old may not have shown his brightest form this season, but he has barely been given a run of games – and leaving a player of his quality out of Tottenham’s team consistently, can only be detrimental.
Mourinho’s mind doesn’t seem to be changing though, and it is difficult to see a future for Alli at Spurs now, while the Portuguese boss remains in charge.
Whether Mourinho will be at the helm at Spurs for much longer is very much up for debate though, as the Daily Mail claim he will be sacked if Tottenham do fail to make the top four this season, which looks increasingly unlikely now.
