Celtic have been blessed up front this season with three quality strikers to choose from.

They have a decision to make this summer over whether to sign Odsonne Edouard permanently, with The Mail claiming he could cost £7 million.

Edouard, 20, is under contract to Paris Saint-Germain, and while he is an excellent prospect, Celtic need to do further due diligence with their own bright talent, Jack Aitchison.

Signing Edouard would put an obstacle in his path, and before doing so, Celtic should give Aitchison a chance to show he is ready now, and demonstrate that he can save the club millions.

Aitchison has been prolific for Scotland’s under-19s, netting six goals in eight games, and his record in the UEFA Youth League this season was impressive, with three goals and five assists in six games.

Celtic are close to wrapping up the league, and while they will want to rest some of their top players for the upcoming Scottish Cup final, this is a opportunity to let Aitchison show what he is made of, and make a case for himself to play a prominent role in 2018/19.
