Soccer fans continue to be shocked by the prices at the 2026 World Cup, from match and train tickets to in-game refreshments.

It is a conversation that just will not go away as fans from across the world are left open-mouthed at the prices across the United States, Canada and Mexico.

Bosnia-Herzegovina's goalkeeper Nikola Vasilj should have been SENT OFF for his challenge on Tani Oluwaseyi, claims Wayne Rooney – Do you agree?

Fans from the host nations may not be as shocked but those travelling from Europe are constantly surprised by prices as each game passes.

Fans react to refreshments pricing at Canada vs Bosnia

Canada recorded their first point at a World Cup tournament as substitute Cyle Larin made an instant impact as his goal rescued a point for the co-hosts.

But it was an image shared on social media of an in-game refreshments price board that really got fans talking as journalist Rob Longley posted: “Hungry? Thirsty? Be prepared…”

According to the image, a cheeseburger will set fans back 25.25 CAD, while a ‘premium beer’ will set fans back a whopping 24.25 CAD.

Although cheaper than prices reported at stadiums in the United States, supporters still expressed their disbelief at what they had seen.

One social media user said: “This world has gone mad with price gouging.”

Another added: “Transportation to/from stadium, parking, tickets, concessions, merchandise…yeesh, that’s an expensive day.”

“Pop and hot dog at Costco is $3 plus tax. This is insane. And needs to be regulated,” said a third.

The expense of attending this year’s World Cup is likely to continue throughout the tournament. When is it safe to explain the tipping culture to European fans?
