With Arsenal already knocking out a League One side in the League Cup this season in AFC Wimbledon, Sunderland will be the strong underdogs when they make another trip down to the English capital in December.
With Sunderland aiming to escape the third-tier, though, there’s a chance that Johnson could rest his side with the festive season a time of the year that can make or break a campaign.
