Back on 2nd October, Wolves decided to sack Bruno Lage after a poor start in the Premier League, although they are still yet to hire a new manager.
According to Record, Carlos Carvalhal became a target for those at Molineux, and speculation about his arrival intensified after he was sacked from his role at Al Wahda.
Now, however, it looks highly unlikely that the 56-year-old will be moving to the Midlands.
Carlos Carvalhal will not become Wolves manager
Well, the Portuguese tactician now seems set to take over at Celta Vigo.
According to Fabrizio Romano, Carvalhal will sign a two-year contract later today, with Pedro Sepúlveda – who first reported the news – claiming that he is already in Spain to meet the squad and be presented.
It means Wolves can cross another managerial target from their list, after Sporting Lisbon boss Ruben Amorim also declined a move to Molineux – that was according to The Sun.
The 37-year-old was also wanted by Ruben Amorim before Unai Emery arrived at Villa Park.
Wolves also made a formal approach to Queens Park Rangers for Michael Beale, who – according to The Athletic – stunned the Old Gold when rejecting their offer to stay at Loftus Road.
Wolves could hire Julen Lopetegui as manager
Interestingly, a move for Julen Lopetegui could be back on.

According to The Athletic, Wolves had made the Spaniard their No.1 choice to replace Lage, although he politely declined their advances following his sacking at Sevilla in order to be close to his elderly father.
However, The Athletic believe a fresh approach was made after Wolves suffered a 4-0 defeat to Leicester, with talks now gathering pace – it seems Lopetegui has potentially changed his mind.
Be sure to keep an eye on that situation, as the 56-year-old could soon officially replace Lage at Molineux.
