Chris Coleman was full of praise for Carney Chukwuemeka during Sky Sports live coverage of Aston Villa’s win in the Premier League on Wednesday.
The 17-year-old was handed his senior debut by manager Dean Smith and the forward-thinking midfielder played like he had ‘been there forever’, according to the ex-Wales boss.
Even though the highly-rated Aston Villa teenager spent only six or seven minutes on the pitch, he certainly made everyone stand up, including hitting the post in stoppage-time.
Coleman lauded Chukwuemeka and stated that he looked ‘confident’ despite being in a pressure situation of trying to get Villa over the line.
“Well, Chukwuemeka since he has been on the pitch, it looks like he has been there forever,” said Coleman.
“Not at all fazed by it. He has made good decisions. He looks confident and he was very unlucky there (hitting the post) not to win the game really for Aston Villa.”

Chukwuemeka is a player that is exciting a lot of Aston Villa supporters and his performances for the younger age groups are only getting better.
Jack Grealish is proof that Villa can produce some serious talent from their academy and they may have another gem on their hands.
It will be interesting to see what Villa do with Chukwuemeka next season because many would like to see him given a shot at first-team action, even if he spends limited time on the pitch, it would still be a learning curve for the kid.
Or they could send him out on loan straight away because the football league is a hotbed of young English talent.
