Yannick Bolasie has been singing the praises of Arsenal hitman Eddie Nketiah.
It has been a difficult last few years at Arsenal for the Hale End graduate.
There’s no denying that the 22-year-old isn’t anywhere near Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang or Alexandre Lacazette in the pecking order under Mikel Arteta.
But Nketiah is getting better and his performance – and goal – in the 2-0 win over Leeds United last night proves as much.
Arteta’s side moved into the last eight of the Carabao Cup with a victory over the Whites at the Emirates Stadium.
And it was a decent goal from Nketiah which wrapped up the win more or less.
As ever, it was a tireless display from the young striker and here’s how Arsenal-daft Bolasie reacted to the goal.
Well needed
Nketiah needed a performance like this.
The academy hitman is yet to play a single minute of Premier League football under Arteta so far this season.
But the North Londoners have an okay couple of games on the horizon – away to Leicester, home to Watford – and getting some action in both is a possibility, if only from the bench.
One thing you can never deny about Nketiah is his work ethic and if he continues to impress in training after scoring last night, a cameo against the Foxes is very possible.
