Some Tottenham Hotspur fans on social media have been reacting after it was reported that Liverpool are closing in on the signing of Luis Diaz.
What’s the story with Diaz?
The Athletic are reporting that Liverpool are close to bringing Porto’s Colombian winger to Anfield.
The winger had been strongly linked with a move to Tottenham Hotspur, but now it seems as though the Reds have hijacked this deal.
Spurs supporters were very excited at the prospect of Diaz coming to the club, and with good reason.
The winger has been ripping it up in Portugal this season, netting 12 league goals already, and he could be an absolute star in the Premier League.
Sadly for Spurs, it doesn’t seem as though he’ll be heading to north London.
Beaten again
Sadly for Tottenham being beaten to a transfer target is becoming a rather common occurrence.
Just this week we’ve seen Diaz, Adama Traore and Dusan Vlahovic slip through Tottenham’s fingers, while similar happened with Bruno Fernandes a couple of years ago.
Spurs changed their Sporting Director over the summer, but for some reason, they’ve been unable to change their habit of being beaten to these signings.
