Jamie Carragher has said on Sky Sports Premier League (6:35pm, August 5, 2022) that Arsenal left-back Kieran Tierney’s injury issues are becoming a problem for him and for the Gunners.
The former Liverpool defender made the comments about Tierney in the build-up to the Premier League game between Crystal Palace and Arsenal at Selhurst Park in London on Friday evening.
The Scotland international left-back started the match on the bench due to injury problems in pre-season.
Oleksandr Zinchenko started at left-back for Mikel Arteta’s side.
Tierney, though, did come as a substitute, as Arsenal won the London derby 2-0.

Carragher said on Sky Sports Premier League (6:35pm, August 5, 2022): “Arsenal needed to strengthen at left-back because Tierney’s injuries now are becoming a problem for him and for the team.”

Injury worries
In our view, Kieran Tierney’s injury problems for Arsenal are a concern.
We do not doubt the quality that the former Celtic left-back has.
When fit and on form, the 25-year-old – who joined Arsenal from Celtic in the summer of 2019 for £25 million (Sky Sports) – is one of the best left-backs in the world.
However, the major problem with Tierney in England has been that he has had injury problems.
Since moving to Arsenal from the Hoops in 2019, the left-back has been able to make only 65 appearances in the Premier League.
Tierney has scored three goals and created six big chances in those matches.
