Jermaine Beckford has shared on Doing A Leeds podcast what he heard about Jean-Kevin Augustin at Leeds United last season.
The former Leeds striker has claimed that multiple sources have told him that the striker did not do enough during training sessions.
The 23-year-old joined the Whites on loan from RB Leipzig in January 2020, but the striker failed to make an impact at Elland Road.
The Frenchman had fitness issues, and in the end, the youngster played just 49 minutes in the Championship for Marcelo Bielsa’s side and failed to score, according to WhoScored.
Augustin has joined French club Nantes on a permanent in the summer transfer window, and Beckford has disclosed what he has been told about the striker.
Beckford said about Augustin on Doing A Leeds podcast: “I also heard from multiple sources that during training he wasn’t giving everything. He wasn’t really trying.
“He wasn’t taking on any new information, and he wasn’t listening to where he was supposed to be or doing the extra work that needed to be done. He was just kind of just going through the motions almost.”
Strong start
Leeds have made a strong start to the Premier League campaign and will hope to maintain their form when club football resumes after the international break.
The Whites are eighth in the league table at the moment with seven points from four matches.
Leeds will take on Wolverhampton Wanderers at Elland Road in the Premier League on October 19.
