Luciano Becchio remains a fan favourite at Elland Road, almost five years after leaving Leeds.
Luciano Becchio has posted a heartfelt message on Twitter to Leeds fans as it approaches five years since he left the Elland Road club – and supporters have urged the Argentine striker to return.
The 33-year-old left Leeds in January 2013 to join Norwich City as part of a deal that saw the Canaries pay Leeds a fee and Wales international Steve Morison, a move which failed to benefit any involved party.
Since his disappointing spell at Carrow Road, Becchio has become somewhat of a journeyman as he looks to get the best out of his remaining years in professional football.
Posting on Twitter, Becchio uploaded an illustrated picture of himself in a Leeds shirt with the caption of a heart emoji, as he continues to have a strong connection with the Elland Road fanbase.
Becchio joined Spanish fourth-tier outfit CD Binissalem in October, after spells with Argentinian side Belgrano, League One club Rotherham and Atletico Baleares since his Norwich departure.
Forming a feared partnership with Jermaine Beckford, Becchio scored 48 goals in 115 games for the Whites during his four-and-a-half-year spell, and fans replied to his tweet begging for the 33-year-old’s return to Elland Road.
