Some Liverpool fans have been reacting on social media to reports by The Times, claiming Gareth Southgate could start Jordan Henderson when England face Ukraine at Euro 2020.
The Three Lions boss is considering rotating his options on Saturday with four players only one booking away from suspension. Henderson and Chelsea star Mason Mount are options to feature at the Stadio Olimpico to avoid anyone missing the semi-finals.
Phil Foden was shown a yellow in the opening group stage win over Croatia. Declan Rice, Kalvin Phillips and Harry Maguire, meanwhile, were booked against Germany. Receiving another would see them miss a Wembley showdown with Denmark or the Czech Republic.

Any cautions shown at Euro 2020 are cleared after the quarter-finals, easing Southgate’s concerns for the final rounds. But the England boss is deciding how heavily he should rotate the squad, with Liverpool’s Henderson an option to feature.
Southgate is currently weighing up handing the Reds’ captain his first start at the Euros with assistant coach Steve Holland. Henderson’s so far played 47 minutes, coming on at half-time against the Czech Republic and in the 88th-minute against Germany.
He replaced Rice on both occasions, with the West Ham star opening all games with Leeds’ Kalvin Phillips in midfield. Henderson could come in to avoid Rice missing the semis, should England progress, although Mount may rival Liverpool’s £140,000-per-week leader.
Liverpool fans react to possible England start for Henderson
But some Liverpool fans reacting on social media would prefer that England do not start Henderson against Ukraine. Instead, they believe Southgate should once again leave the 31-year-old on the bench and will stick with an unchanged midfield.
However, not all share that view, with a few Liverpool supporters also calling for England to start Henderson. That’s because they believe the 61-cap international is a better option than Rice or Phillips. The West Ham product being on a yellow card also being a big factor.
So, here are some of the reactions Liverpool supporters have shared in response to rumours England could start Henderson…
