Gary Lineker has taken to Twitter after England defeated Iran by a 6-2 scoreline in the World Cup, with Manchester City maestro Jack Grealish getting on the scoresheet.

The £100m man netted his first World Cup goal, on what was his World Cup debut, slotting home after Callum Wilson unselfishly cut the ball back.

After his strike, Grealish was seen celebrating in an unusual manner, although Lineker seems to be a fan after hearing the reason behind it.

What Jack Grealish’s celebration was about

Well, the 27-year-old celebrated by holding his arms out wide and wiggling them, similarly to Daniel Sturridge’s famous celebration.

After full-time, Grealish explained that the celebration was for 12-year-old Manchester City fan Finlay Fisher, who he met recently after receiving a letter from the young man with cerebral palsy, something the England international’s sister also suffers with.

The Manchester City No.10 wrote “for you Finlay” on Twitter, with the youngster telling ITV after seeing his request fulfilled: “I was just waiting for Jack Grealish to score and there it was. I was just so excited. At first I thought he would forget.”

After learning of that fact, Lineker posted the following tweet.

It really was a beautiful moment from Grealish, and to do it at the World Cup of all stages will surely mean the world to Finlay.

England need more like Jack Grealish

This moment is a fine example of how a footballer can give someone an unforgettable moment in just a matter of seconds.

It didn’t take Grealish much to wiggle his arms around for a few seconds, but for Finlay, it will be something he remembers for the rest of his life.

The Manchester City midfielder has his critics, mainly when it comes to his lack of goals and assists so far this season, but in terms of character, he is one of the best people in Gareth Southgate’s 26-man squad.
