Arsenal are reportedly interested in bringing Franck Kessie to North London during the summer transfer window.

In fact, Gazzetta Dello Sport has reported today that the Gunners are actually leading the race to sign the 24-year-old midfielder.

Kessie’s future at AC Milan looks to be in some doubt in light of the fact that his contract expires in 12 months.

Even still, the San Siro club are looking for £42 million to sell him [Gazzetta] but they remain actively committed to extending his contract.

Arsenal are going to need a few new midfielders this summer.

Dani Ceballos and Martin Odegaard have returned to parent club Real Madrid, while Matteo Guendouzi and Granit Xhaka look set to join Marseille and Roma respectively.

Here’s how some fans of the Emirates Stadium club reacted to potentially signing Kessie:

Not enough

It would be a good start to Arsenal’s business but really, much more is needed – a lot more.

We’re talking about a team who finished eighth in the Premier League for two years running, which illustrates there is major issues to be addressed.

Last season, scoring goals was the Gunners’ main problem under Mikel Arteta and although Kessie can add goals, having hit 14 for Milan last season, the Emirates Stadium club still need another striker.
