Arsenal loanee Konstantinos Mavropanos is going from strength to strength.

The 23-year-old has been making headlines for the right reasons throughout 2021 so far following a number of towering defensive displays for Stuttgart.

Mavropanos, who joined Arsenal three years ago under Arsene Wenger, is a first-team regular for a Stuttgart side that sits eighth in the Bundesliga table.

It’s fair to say that he’s enjoying life away from North London – and it has just got a little sweeter.

The big centre-back has seen his form rewarded after being named in Greece’s squad for the first time, for upcoming games against Spain, Honduras and Georgia.

Here’s how some Arsenal fans reacted on Twitter to the news:

Mikel Arteta needs to take a proper look at Mavropanos in the summer.

Since leaving Arsenal on loan, Sokratis Papastathopoulos and Shkodran Mustafi have also left the Emirates Stadium club on a permanent basis.

In other words, Mavropanos has a lot less competition in regards to a centre-back slot now – and even less when you consider Calum Chambers is also being linked with a summer move away.

Mavropanos is clearly developing into a fine player and it’d be a shame if he proves himself as such elsewhere, without ever getting a chance under Arteta.
