Maurice Edu scored a dramatic late goal for Rangers against Celtic eight years ago.

Build up to Sunday’s Old Firm derby is beginning to grow momentum and the SPL’s official Twitter account posted a throwback of Rangers’ late 2010 win over Celtic on Friday – which saw DaMarcus Beasley react in reminiscent fasihon.
Graeme Murty’s side go into Sunday’s Old Firm derby in excellent form and they will be looking to repeat the heroics of the Rangers side of 2010, which beat Celtic 1-0 thanks to Maurice Edu’s late strike.

In a match that saw the Gers go 10 points clear and win the 2009-10 Scottish Premiership title, USA international Edu bundled home a corner after Artur Boruc spilled a Madjid Bougherra shot in the dying moments.
Beasley, who was an unused substitute on the day at Ibrox, sent a Tweet to Edu in reaction to the SPL’s throwback post by Tweeting “we went nuts” after his fellow countryman scored from inside the six-yard box.
Edu, who played for Rangers for four years before leaving in 2012, is now a free agent after leaving MLS side Philadelphia Union last summer and is on the lookout for a new club – aged just 31.
A USA international, Edu has struggled since leaving Rangers, failing at Stoke City. Beasley, now 35, moved to Hannover before going to Mexican side Puebla. He now turns out for MLS side Houston Dynamo.
A win for Rangers on Sunday would see them close the gap at the top of the table to just three points, though Celtic do have a game in hand after their clash against Dundee last week was postponed.
