Dejan Lovren has told Liverpool striker Divock Origi on Instagram to ‘be proud’ ahead of his summer exit.
The 27-year-old issued two emotional and heartbreaking Instagram posts to the Liverpool supporters on Monday.
The first one was Origi sitting next to the Champions League trophy, and the other, is his goodbye video to fans, added with the caption, ‘it was a special journey, Liverpool. YNWA’.
Signed as a fresh-faced teenager in 2014, Origi departs Merseyside as a club legend and a player that delivered big moments for the club.
Ex-Reds defender, Lovren, was part of many of those special moments, as he sent the following message to his former teammate.
‘Well done Div on everything,” Lovren wrote. ‘Be proud’.
COULD MANE FOLLOW ORIGI OUT OF ANFIELD?
Liverpool fans have known for a while that Origi was going to leave, especially given that his contract was due to expire in June.
But, the same can’t be said for their Africa Cup of Nations winning star, Sadio Mane, who could be joining Origi in leaving.
For a number of months, rumours have been rife of interest from elsewhere for the Senegal international, including from Bayern Munich.
Whilst nothing concrete has happened yet, regarding a bid of any sort, it’s now been suggested that Mane does indeed want to leave and try out a new chapter of his trophy-laden career.
