Some Arsenal fans on social media have been reacting after they were linked with a move for Georginio Wijnaldum.
What’s the story with Wijnaldum?
Arsenal are apparently one of the clubs keen on Wijnaldum as he looks for a return back to the Premier League.
According to Sky Sports, the Dutchman is looking for a loan move back to England after a difficult first six months in Paris.
Wijnaldum only joined PSG in the summer after his contract with Liverpool expired, but he could be back in England sooner than expected.
Exciting signing
If Arsenal are to win the race for Wijnaldum, this has the potential to be an excellent signing.
The midfielder is proven at Premier League level. He’s a Champions League winner and he’s one of the most reliable players we’ve seen at this level.
Wijnaldum was excellent for Liverpool during his time at Anfield, while we also shouldn’t forget his contributions at Newcastle in the 2015/16 season.
The Dutchman may be exactly the type of player Arsenal need in order to continue their assault on the top four.
Arsenal certainly could do with a new midfielder. They’ve struggled to settle on a partnership this season with the likes of Thomas Partey, Albert Sambi Lokonga, Granit Xhaka and Ainsley Maitland-Niles all rotating, but perhaps the addition of Wijnaldum would bring some stability to the midfield.
