John Murray has shared that Mikel Arteta didn’t even bother looking at Nuno Tavares as the Arsenal player threw ‘a little strop’ during Arsenal’s FA Cup defeat to Nottingham Forest on Sunday.

The BBC reporter shared how the Arsenal left-back, who was substituted in the first half, ‘threw his gloves down’ after being replaced by Kieran Tierney.

For many Arsenal players at the City Ground, including Tavares, it was a game and performance to forget, but it seems as though Arteta’s patience with his summer signing wore thin and he acted in a pretty brutal fashion.

One moment during the game, Tavares played a back pass in such a wayward manner towards Bernd Leno that it ended up going out for a corner.

Arteta clearly saw enough after 35 minutes and he hooked the youngster off, as Murray shared his thoughts on what Arteta was doing as he was throwing his ‘strop’.

“There’s a little strop going on here from Nuno Tavares,” said Murray.

“As he came off, he threw his gloves down. He’s not very happy. Arteta has still not looked at him.”

It’s going to be interesting to see what happens next with Tavares and whether Arteta punishes him for his actions.

Arteta has previously shown that he is a manager that is not to be messed with and it is his way or the high way.

But then again, Tavares needs the benefit of the doubt because he is young and he didn’t exactly show any dissent towards his manager.

Tavares might have just been frustrated and annoyed with his own performance, hence his reaction.
