Noel Whelan says that Leeds United need to sign a striker before the end of the summer transfer window.

Noel Whelan said on The Noel Whelan Show on BBC Radio Leeds on Friday evening (broadcast from 6pm, August 19, 2016) that Leeds United need to sign a striker before the end of the summer transfer window.
Chris Wood and Marcus Antonsson are the two main strikers on the books of Leeds at the moment.
Kemar Roofe, who joined the Whites from Oxford United in the summer transfer window, can play as a striker and so can Souleymane Doukara.

Former Leeds striker Whelan believes that the Championship club need to sign a player who can put pressure on Wood and Antonsson upfront and can also give head coach Garry Monk options.
“Yeah, in big time. Big time. We don’t have enough options, we don’t have enough quality on the bench or to put Antonsson and Chris Wood under pressure.”

Leeds have been linked with a move for West Ham United striker Ashley Fletcher in the summer transfer window (click here to read more).
According to The Yorkshire Post, the Championship outfit want to secure the services of the 20-year-old striker on a loan deal.
Leeds were interested in signing Fletcher before the youngster moved to West Ham, according to a report in The Daily Mail in July.
Interestingly, both Wood and Antonsson were on target on Saturday afternoon, as the Whites got the better of Sheffield Wednesday 2-0 away from home at the Hillsborough Stadium in the Championship.
