Shaughnessy joined Hearts from Leeds on loan earlier this month.

BBC Sportscene’s Scottish football pundits Michael Stewart and Steven Thompson have criticised Leeds United defender Conor Shaughnessy after he made two mistakes in Hearts’ 2-1 defeat to Dundee on Wednesday night.
Craig Levein’s Hearts had gone into the match as favourites, with Dundee sitting rock bottom of the Scottish Premiership at the start of the night. But the Dee surprised many with a win at Tynecastle.
Genseric Kusunga and Andrew Nelson’s goals cancelled out Olly Lee’s equaliser to win 2-1, and Leeds loanee Shaughnessy was at fault for both goals.
Former Rangers striker Thompson gave analysis for Dundee’s first goal, in which he criticised Shaughnessy before ex-Hearts and Hibernian midfielder Stewart was not impressed with Shaughessy’s part to play in the second.
Thompson on Dundee’s first goal: “New signing Shaughnessy has got to realise that Kusunga is a danger, and get over to stop the run. He doesn’t, and Kusunga waltzes into the box. He’s way too late to react.”
Stewart on the second goal: “Not great defending here from Conor Shaugnessy, allowing Craig Curran to race through. I mean, that’s really poor defending. Nelson shows great composure and a really good finish.”

The first, he was out of position in the penalty area and failed to track Kusunga’s run, before losing possession in the second half in the build up to Nelson’s winner.
It was Shaughnessy’s second appearance after impressing as Hearts earned a 1-0 win over Livingston at the weekend in the fourth round of the Scottish Cup.
Shaughnessy, 22, seems surplus to requirements at Leeds with the likes of Liam Cooper, Pontus Jansson, Aapo Halme, Kalvin Phillips, Luke Ayling and Gaetano Berardi preferred at centre-back this season.
