An Arsenal fan called BBC 606 on Saturday and urged Harry Kane to leave Tottenham Hotspur to win trophies, and Chris Sutton responded to him by asking whether Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang should leave the Gunners for the same reason.

The Arsenal supporter rang after Tottenham’s defeat to Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium in the Premier League on Saturday evening.

It was a disappointing result and performance from Spurs, and star striker Kane struggled to make a huge impact.

The Arsenal supporter said that for Kane to win major trophies, he simply has to leave Tottenham.

Former Chelsea striker Sutton responded by asking whether Aubameyang should leave Arsenal, as the Gabon international striker is not going to win the Premier League with the Gunners anytime soon.

Sutton said on BBC 606 on Saturday: “What about Aubameyang at Arsenal then? Should he leave because he’s not going to win anything at Arsenal?”

Aubameyang has actually won a major trophy with Arsenal – the FA Cup in 2020. The former Borussia Dortmund star also finished runners-up with the Gunners in the EFL Cup in 2018 and the Europa League in 2019.

Arsenal could win the Europa League this season, and so could Tottenham, who are also in the final of the EFL Cup.

However, it is very unlikely that the Gunners or Spurs will win the Premier League title anytime soon.
