BBC pundit Jon Newsome has hailed the signing of Wilfried Gnonto for Leeds United after the side’s 2-2 draw against Cardiff City in the FA Cup.

The pundit, much like those tuning into Leeds were impressed by Gnonto, who fizzed in a low cross for Junior Firpo, who assisted Sonny Perkins’ crucial equaliser in the 86th minute.

The Italian international, who joined Jesse Marsch and Co. for just £3.8 million (The Daily Mail) has been a smash success so far.

While 1 goal and 1 assist in the Premier League so far may not impress many, it is key to remember that Wilfried Gnonto has only made 4 starts for Leeds United.

The numbers will soon follow but for the time being, there is no denying just how impactful Gnonto has been at Elland Road.

Even against Cardiff, the tricky winger’s quick feet, pace to burn and directness is what led to Leeds coming back into the contest.

And while it is only early days, the £20,000-a-week Leeds forward already has a huge admirer in a well-known pundit.
