BBC pundit urges attacker not to join Everton as he shares what he’s heard

Former Crystal Palace striker Clinton Morrison has made it clear on BBC Radio 5 Live (09/09/20 at 9:15 pm) that he ‘doesn’t want’ Wilfried Zaha to join Everton this summer.

The BBC and Sky pundit first referenced the rumours on social media about Everton wanting to sign Zaha and then shared that he has ‘heard’ that the winger will be at Palace for the start of the season, but the Toffees ‘still’ want to sign him.

The Guardian did previously claim that Zaha is intent on leaving Selhurst Park this summer, with the Sun claiming that Everton are once again potential suitors for his signature.

Given the years he spent at Palace, it’s understandable that Morrison would want Zaha to stay, but even he knows that ‘money talks’.

“I heart tonight that they might be linked with Wilfried Zaha, but I don’t want him to go there,” Morrison told BBC Radio 5 Live. “But we have to see on that one.

Morrison is then asked, “Have you heard that?”: He responds by saying: “Yes, it’s just the rumours and social media.”

The BBC pundit is then reminded by presenter, Mark Chapman, that he has connections at Palace and he cannot simply go off a tweet on social media.

He responded by saying: “As far as I am concerned, he is going to be at Crystal Palace at the start of the season. That’s what I have heard. But you never know. Money talks. They wanted him last season and I still think they want him this season.”

Zaha would add serious spice to what Carlo Ancelotti is trying to build on the blue half of Merseyside this summer.

Allan has been brought in from Napoli to sweep things up in the middle of the park and provide a more robust nature to Everton’s midfield.

Abdoulaye Doucoure, on the other hand, will bring the drive, power and, along with Allan, much-needed energy to the team.

Whilst the wonder boy and star signing, James Rodriguez, will feed off those two and try to work his magic at Goodison. The thought of the former Real Madrid man linking up with Zaha may well set the heart rates pulsing for the Toffee supporters.
