Celtic's Moussa Dembele celebrates scoring their first goal

Pat Bonner has suggested to BBC Sport that Celtic duo Moussa Dembele and Scott Sinclair did not play well against Rangers at the weekend.

Celtic took on Old Firm rivals Rangers at Celtic Park in the Scottish Premiership on Sunday afternoon.

Brendan Rodgers’s side took the lead in the 35th minute through Stuart Armstrong, but the Gers restored parity through Clint Hill in the 87th minute.

Former Celtic goalkeeper Bonner was following the match, and he suggested that he was not impressed with the performances of forward Dembele and winger Sinclair.

“Celtic’s passing was poor in the final third after good build-up play,” Bonner told BBC Sport. “Dembele and Sinclair weren’t really at it today.”

Over the course of the 90 minutes at Celtic Park on Sunday afternoon, hosts Celtic had 56% of the possession, took 11 shots of which seven were on target, and earned three corners, according to BBC Sport.

Visitors Rangers had 44% of the possession, took eight shots of which five were on target, and earned three corners, according to BBC Sport.

Celtic are at the top of the Scottish Premiership table at the moment with 80 points from 28 matches, while Rangers are currently third in the standings with 47 points from 28 games.
