The Celtic legend – who now works as a pundit for BBC Sport – was disappointed with the way Jullien gave away the penalty in the first half of the Hoops’ Scottish Premiership game against Kilmarnock away from home.
Jullien’s tug on Nicke Kabamba was deemed a foul, and Chris Burke made no mistake from the penalty spot.
Ryan Christie had put the Glasgow giants in the lead in the 11th minute, and Bonner was impressed with it.
Former Celtic striker Chris Sutton was not pleased either with the way the visiting team’s centre-backs defended in the build-up to the penalty, and was disappointed with the final result.
Bonner said on BBC Sport about the penalty: “Neil Lennon will be so angry that one of his key players has given away a penalty, dragging his man down when there was no real danger.”
The Celtic legend about the Celtic goal: “That was incredible – it was out of nothing. It was so far out I was surprised Christie even took the shot on. Danny Rogers has got to be asking questions of himself.”
Disappointing result for Celtic
The draw with Kilmarnock means that Celtic have fallen behind bitter Old Firm rivals Rangers in the Scottish Premiership title race, with Steven Gerrard’s side winning earlier today.
Of course, it is only the second round of matches in the Scottish Premiership this season, but there is no doubt that the Bhoys should have done better, both in defence and in attack, against Kilmarnock today.
