Chris Sutton suggested on BBC Radio 5 Live (7:12pm, November 2, 2020) that Patrick Bamford has found a home at Leeds United.

The former Chelsea and Celtic striker, who now works as a pundit for BBC Sport, pointed out that before joining Leeds, the Englishman was out on loan at a number of clubs.

The 27-year-old started his professional club football career at Nottingham Forest and moved to Chelsea in 2012.

The striker could not break into the first team at Chelsea and was sent out on loan to a number of clubs, including Derby County, Middlesbrough and Crystal Palace.

Bamford made a permanent switch to Middlesbrough in 2017 and joined Leeds in the summer of 2018.

Sutton said about Bamford on BBC Radio 5 Live (7:12pm, November 2, 2020): “Over the years he has been a little bit of a journeyman. There has always been, I think it’s fair to say, question marks about him.

“I think he has had nine clubs all in all. He is 27 years old. Maybe the only club he really felt wanted at before coming to Leeds was Middlesbrough where he got a bit of a run in the team.”

Doing well at Leeds United

Bamford has progressed a lot under Leeds head coach Marcelo Bielsa, who has kept faith in him despite the striker missing chances in the Championship.

The Englishman has been superb for the Whites in the Premier League and is leading the line well.

According to WhoScored, the 27-year-old striker has scored six goals and provided one assist in seven Premier League games for Leeds so far this season.

Bamford is flourishing under Bielsa, and Leeds fans will hope that he continues to do so.
