Clinton Morrison has claimed that Aston Villa winger Bertrand Traore was upset with Dean Smith over his decision to take him off last night.
Villa slipped to a 2-0 defeat away to Manchester City.
Traore was looking like one of Aston Villa’s more dangerous players on the night but Smith took him off on 68 minutes, when the score was 0-0.
And Morrison, speaking to BBC Radio 5 Live, says that the former Lyon winger was not happy in the least about being substituted.
He told BBC Radio 5 Live: “Bertrand Traore is not happy about coming off and I can see why. He’s had a good game but it’s just tired legs.”
Eleven minutes after Traore came off, Pep Guardiola’s side finally found the breakthrough – albeit controversially – when Bernardo Silva opened the scoring with a hint of offside about the goal.
And Ilkay Gundogan made sure of the victory in stoppage time with a penalty.
Traore, a £17 million signing from the French outfit last summer, has four goals and two assists in the Premier League since joining Smith’s side.
