BBC Sport pundit Matthew Kilgallon has said that West Ham United striker Danny Ings would be a good signing for Daniel Farke’s Leeds United in the summer transfer window.

The former Leeds United central defender has said on BBC Radio Leeds just how West Ham United striker Danny Ings would make the Whites better.

Kilgallon believes that the 31-year-old English striker is good enough to make an impact for Leeds in the Championship.

The BBC Radio Leeds pundit has noted that Ings would also help young Leeds players such as Joe Gelhardt.

Kilgallon made the comments regarding Ings when a Leeds fan mentioned his name as a potential signing for the Whites in the summer transfer window.

Leeds are in desperate need of an out-and-out striker in the summer transfer window, especially due to the persistent injury problems of Patrick Bamford.

Kilgallon said: “I agree with your Ings shout. Someone like that. He is older, he can still move, it’s not like he cannot run in behind.

“He has got the experience, and helping players like Joffy out, talking to them. I think that’s a great shout there.”

Leeds United unlikely to be able to sign Danny Ings from West Ham United

We do not think that Leeds United will be able to sign Danny Ings from West Ham United in the summer transfer window.

After all, Ings joined West Ham from Aston Villa only in January 2023.

The Hammers paid the Villans an initial transfer fee of £12 million for the Englishman (Sky Sports).

The striker made eight starts and 10 substitute appearances in the Premier League for the Hammers last season.

Ings scored six goals in those games.

It is unlikely that West Ham will be willing to let Ings leave after only a few months.

And we do not think that the striker himself would be keen on a move to the Championship, especially when the Hammers would be playing in the UEFA Europa League this season.
