Tottenham Hotspur’s recent form in the Premier League has not been great.

Danny Murphy has told BBC Sport that Dele Alli is the only Tottenham Hotspur player who is getting into goalscoring positions at the moment.

Tottenham are not in great form at the moment and are struggling to eke out wins.

The North London outfit are not scoring too many goals either, having failed to find the net against Bayer Leverkusen and against Bournemouth last month.

Former Spurs midfielder Murphy has highlighted a reason for Mauricio Pochettino side’s recent lack of goals.

The former England international believes that Tottenham need to have players getting into goalscoring positions.

“I know Tottenham beat Manchester City without Kane but they are a better side when he plays,” Murphy told BBC Sport.

“It is the last third of the pitch where they have been struggling without him because, with Vincent Janssen still adjusting to English football, the likes of Christian Eriksen, Erik Lamela and Moussa Sissoko are not chipping in with enough goals.

“Dele Alli is the only player who keeps getting himself in good goalscoring positions and he probably has not scored as many as he should have done when you look at the chances he has had.

“Other than Alli, there does not really seem to be a goal threat from Tottenham’s front four, or anywhere else in their team – he is the only Spurs player to have scored a goal from open play in the last five games in the Premier League or Champions League.”

Tottenham are missing star striker Harry Kane at the moment, with summer signing Vincent Janssen yet to impress in the Premier League.

Spurs need to find goals from midfield, as they cannot rely on Kane all the time when he regains full fitness.

Pochettino’s side will return to action on Sunday afternoon when they take on Arsenal away from home at the Emirates Stadium in the Premier League.

It will be massive for Tottenham if they pick up all three points from the North London derby.
