Stephen Warnock has praised Liverpool striker Darwin Nunez for the goal that he scored against David Moyes’s West Ham United at Anfield in the Premier League on Sunday.

Liverpool have got the better of West Ham United 3-1 at home.

Mohamed Salah (penalty), Darwin Nunez and Diogo Jota scored the goals for the Merseyside club.

Former Liverpool player Stephen Warnock was following the match for BBC Radio 5 Live.

And he was impressed by the goal that Nunez scored.

The striker found the back of the net with ahead with a difficult hooked volley from Alexis Mac Allister’s clipped ball over the top.

While Warnock was impressed by the effort from Nunez, he has observed that the Liverpool striker missed an earlier chance that was easier.

Praise for Liverpool striker Darwin Nunez vs West Ham United

Warnock said about Nunez on BBC Sport: “Nunez, he should have scored earlier on.

“This is an even more difficult opportunity he takes it on the flying volley, almost like a scissor kick and he finds the far left corner.

“He makes the difficult stuff look easy and he makes the easy look so hard.

“The relief on his face because he knew how important the chance was before but this is an outstanding finish from Darwin Nunez.”

Darwin Nunez could get better

In our view, Darwin Nunez could get better for Liverpool.

We know that Nunez can be erratic.

The Liverpool star is not the cleanest of players when it comes to striking the ball.

The 24-year-old does need to work on it.

What is very encouraging about Nunez is that he gets into good positions and gets chances.

Nunez just needs to be more composed when it comes to finishing off the chances that he gets.
