Ashley Williams has shared that Dan James has said that life is ‘tough’ at Leeds United, but he is ‘enjoying’ it after joining from Manchester United in the summer, as he told Football Focus.
The former Wales international claimed that his fellow countryman would have been ‘disappointed’ with his career at Old Trafford.
Years after Leeds could have signed James from Swansea, the flying winger ended up in Manchester, but it didn’t work out for the player.
Despite donning the colours of Man United, those at Elland Road still held an interest in the player and they snapped him up for £25 million (BBC Sport).
And now Williams thinks that James might have a thing or two to ‘prove’ to his former club ahead of Sunday’s heavyweight showdown in Yorkshire.
“He will probably be disappointed with his career at Manchester United,” said Williams.
“He has gone to Leeds. Life under Marcelo, he says ‘it’s tough, difficult, but he’s enjoying it’.
“I think against his old team, he will have something to prove. He will want to get on the scoresheet and perform well.”

With Patrick Bamford on the sidelines, James has been leading the line for Leeds for a number of weeks.
He netted a brace at Villa Park not so long ago, but was anonymous during his side’s defeat to Everton last time out.
During that Goodison Park defeat, Marcelo Bielsa switched James from the number nine role to the flanks after half-time.
And ahead of Man United’s visit to Elland Road, it will be interesting to see how he is used against his former side.
