Pundit Mark Lawrenson has told BBC Sport that he thinks Leicester City will beat West Ham United 2-0 at the London Stadium this afternoon.

The Hammers head into the game having lost a topsy-turvy encounter at Bournemouth last weekend, with the Cherries claiming a dramatic 3-2 victory.

It’s now just two points in the last four games for Slaven Bilic’s men, and West Ham are in danger of letting their season peter out having won just once since the end of the January transfer window.

Whilst West Ham are safe from relegation, Bilic needs a strong end to the season to make sure that his job is secured for next season, but they take on a resurgent Leicester City side.

After a series of poor results had plunged Leicester into relegation trouble, the Foxes decided to sack manager Claudio Ranieri – despite the Italian winning the Premier League last season.

Craig Shakespeare, initially caretaker manager but now installed until the end of the season, Leicester have beaten Liverpool and Hull City in the Premier League to ease their relegation fears, and they also beat Sevilla 2-0 on Tuesday evening to advance into the last eight of the Champions League.

Leicester are showing signs of recapturing last season’s form, and pundit Mark Lawrenson is backing the Foxes to claim a victory this afternoon.

Lawrenson has told BBC Sport that with Leicester producing impressive displays and West Ham struggling for a win, the Foxes will pick up a 2-0 win at the London Stadium in what would be their first away league victory of the season.

“Like Burnley, Leicester are another team yet to win away in the league this season – and again, I think the Foxes will put that right this weekend,” said Lawrenson. “Since Claudio Ranieri was sacked, Leicester seem to be producing the same type of performances that won them the league last season – and it is working for them. West Ham are on a poor run of four games without a win and I think Leicester’s revival will continue,” he added.
