Tottenham Hotspur take on Middlesbrough in the Premier League this evening.
Pundit Mark Lawrenson has told BBC Sport that he thinks Tottenham Hotspur will beat Middlesbrough 2-0 in the Premier League this evening.
Spurs head into this evening’s game having suffered frustration in midweek, as they could only muster a 0-0 draw away at Sunderland, as Chelsea, Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester United all dropped points.

That game will have felt like a missed opportunity for Mauricio Pochettino’s side, who sit nine points behind league leaders Chelsea.
Spurs have yet to lose at White Hart Lane though this season, and they will be hoping to put Tuesday’s frustration behind them as they take on another team from the North East in Middlesbrough.
Aitor Karanka’s side, who lost 2-1 to Spurs earlier this season, drew 1-1 at home with West Bromwich Albion in midweek, meaning it’s now no victory in the last six league games for Boro.

The improved form of teams around them means that Boro lie just two points clear of the drop zone, and with goals hard to come by this season, fans are concerned that they will end up in the bottom three come May.
Picking up a positive result this evening would be a huge boost, but pundit Mark Lawrenson doesn’t see that happening, as he’s told BBC Sport that he expects a 2-0 win for Tottenham.
Lawrenson believes Middlesbrough will try to frustrate Tottenham, just as Sunderland did, but with Spurs so strong at home, he’s still expecting a win for Mauricio Pochettino’s side.

“Tottenham struggled to create chances at Sunderland and will consider that draw to be two points dropped,” said Lawrenson. “Middlesbrough will also try to shut them out but Spurs have been in great form at home and I do not see it happening,” he added.
