Mark Lawrenson is backing Tottenham to beat Hull City 3-0 this evening.

Pundit Mark Lawrenson has told BBC Sport that he thinks Tottenham Hotspur will beat Hull City 3-0 in the Premier League this evening.

Spurs had picked up two great results with a 5-0 win over Swansea City and a 3-1 Champions League victory against CSKA Moscow, but slipped up on Sunday afternoon.

Henrikh Mkhitaryan’s goal gave Manchester United a 1-0 win over Spurs just days ago, and whilst that result was a blow, Tottenham have still lost just two Premier League games this season.

Manager Mauricio Pochettino will be hoping to respond with a victory though, and his side they take on strugglers Hull City at White Hart Lane this evening.

The Tigers, who currently sit 19th in the Premier League table, drew 3-3 at home with Crystal Palace on Saturday afternoon, and will be disappointed with just a point having led 1-0 and 3-2 during the game.

Mike Phelan’s men are desperate for points, and a win could take them out of the relegation zone depending on results elsewhere tonight.

Ahead of the game, pundit Mark Lawrenson has offered his prediction for the game, telling BBC Sport that he thinks Tottenham will beat Hull 3-0 in a convincing win – but he has his doubts about Spurs.

Lawrenson thinks that Tottenham are a good side, but is concerned that they look ordinary in certain games and don’t appear to have a cutting edge – but claims they won’t struggle to break down a porous Hull defence.

“Tottenham are clearly a good side but there is a ‘but’ and the but is there are a lot of games when they are ordinary and they don’t have a cutting edge,” said Lawrenson. “This should not be one of them. Hull got something out of their topsy-turvy game against Crystal Palace at the weekend but they let opposing teams have a lot of chance,” he added.
