BBC pundit seriously impressed by one Tottenham youngster vs Manchester United

Chris Waddle has raved about Tottenham Hotspur defensive midfielder Pape Matar Sarr for his display against Erik ten Hag’s Manchester United.

The former Tottenham Hotspur player has said on BBC Sport that Pape Matar Sarr produced a “very good performance” against Manchester United at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in the Premier League game on Saturday evening.

Ange Postecoglou’s side won 2-0 against the Red Devils today.

Sarr scored the first goal for Spurs in the 49th minute.

An own goal from defender Lisandro Martinez on 83 minutes saw Tottenham wrap up the three points.

Praise for Pape Matar Sarr for Tottenham Hotspur vs Manchester United

Sarr started the match and was superb in the middle of the park.

The 20-year-old produced a performance that showed his remarkable maturity.

The Senegal international defensive midfielder was not afraid to go toe-to-toe with the more experienced Manchester United players in the middle of the park.

Sarr scored a very good goal and could have found the back of the net on another occasion.

It was a very solid performance from the 20-year-old, and Tottenham fans will expect more from him in the coming weeks and months.

Waddle said about Sarr: “Brilliant, a lot of energy, was easy to see why Postecoglou picked him to start.

“Loves to get forward and join in. A very good performance him and Bissouma in the middle.”

Tottenham were brilliant and deservedly picked up all three points against the Red Devils.

Spurs have started the season strongly, and maybe the North London club’s fans will find the team in the Premier League top four come May.
