Danny Murphy has claimed that ‘super talent’ Fabio Carvalho will be at Liverpool next season after his FA Cup goal over the weekend, as he told Match of the Day.
The former Reds midfielder praised Carvalho for the ‘confidence’ he plays with after he scored against Manchester City at the Etihad.
It was Carvalho’s bursting run towards the near post that opened the scoring for Fulham inside the first few minutes, as he perhaps showcased a glimpse of what is to come during these coming years.
Marco Silva’s men ended up suffering a cruel 4-1 defeat, as the Premier League champions showcased their strength, despite an early scare.
But Murphy singled out Carvalho and the performance from the 19-year-old against one of the best teams in Europe.
“Super young talent,” said Murphy. “Liverpool supporters can have a look at him because he’s probably going to be wearing red next season.
“He played in like a number ten position. What confidence he has for a young player though.
“He loves the ball to his feet. He has great balance. Low centre of gravity, especially in the first half, he was hunting the ball down and he was making things happen.
“And this is against a team who are one of the best in Europe. More credit to him because actually, for the deal to fall through when it could have happened, it could have been different for him.”

Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano claimed on Twitter that Liverpool will still push to sign Carvalho this month after a deal for the player collapsed on deadline day.
Of course, he wouldn’t be able to move, but if he is signed up during these coming weeks, then it will mean that the Merseyside club have to deal with one less headache during the summer transfer window.
As Harvey Elliott is proving at Anfield, if Liverpool sign Carvalho, then they will have a serious crop of young talent on their books.
Not many players can dance and move with the ball in England’s second-tier like Fulham’s young gun and he proved that against the likes of Kyle Walker over the weekend.
Whether it’s in the colours of Liverpool, Fulham or anyone else, one thing is for sure, Carvalho, will be a Premier League player sooner rather than later.
