Tony Pulis has said on BBC Sport that Tottenham Hotspur central defender Cristian Romero was tired towards the end of the match against Brighton and Hove Albion away from home in the Premier League on Saturday evening.
The former Stoke City manager was following the game between Brighton and Tottenham this evening for BBC Sport.
Antonio Conte’s Tottenham won the match 1-0.
Argentina international central defender Romero started the game and played well.
The centre-back made some good tackles and blocks and was a rock at the back for Spurs.
However, Pulis noticed that towards the end of the match, Romero looked tired.
And the BBC Sport pundit criticised him.
Tony Pulis on Cristian Romero for Tottenham Hotspur v Brighton and Hove Albion
Pulis said about Romero in the final minutes: “Cristian Romero needs a kick up the backside there. He looks tired. Tottenham really have to dig in because Brighton are pushing and pushing.”

Positive result for Spurs
In our view, Tottenham Hotspur should be pleased with their performance and result against Brighton and Hove Albion.
We saw against Liverpool how good Brighton are, and getting three points against the Seagulls away from home is a good result for Tottenham.
Yes, Spurs were defensive, especially after they scored and in the second half, but Conte knew that his side had to bounce back after the North London derby defeat to Arsenal.
