Clinton Morrison has raved about Newcastle United goalkeeper Karl Darlow on BBC Sport for his performance against Tottenham Hotspur.

The former Crystal Palace forward, who now works as a pundit for BBC Sport, was impressed with the saves that Darlow made in their Premier League game against Tottenham away from home at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Sunday.

Morrison told BBC Sport (3:43pm) after Darlow made a save: “It’s a good save. That ball’s moving. It was a good attempt from Erik Lamela and another good save from Karl Darlow. He has had an excellent game.”

Very good performance

Darlow, who has been at Newcastle since 2014, had one of his best games for the Magpies.

The 29-year-old made important saves throughout the game, which is why Newcastle could hold on until the final minutes when they scored from a penalty and made it 1-1.

Stats

Over the course of the 90 minutes at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Sunday, hosts Tottenham had 66% of the possession, took 23 shots of which 12 were on target, and earned 10 corners, according to BBC Sport.

Visitors Newcastle had 34% of the possession, took six shots of which one was on target, and earned four corners, according to BBC Sport.

Newcastle will return to action on Wednesday evening when they take on Newport County away from home in the fourth round of the EFL Cup before facing Burnley at St. James’ Park in the Premier League next weekend.
