Noel Whelan has said on BBC Radio Leeds that Leeds United winger Helder Costa infuriates him.
The former Leeds striker, who now works as a pundit for BBC Radio Leeds, made the comments about Costa after watching him in action against Manchester United on Sunday.
The 27-year-old winger started the match, but head coach Marcelo Bielsa decided to take him off in the 72nd minute.
Whelan said on BBC Radio Leeds: “Costa just infuriates me. He infuriates me. I know he has got the ability, I know he has got the talent, I don’t know if he wants it enough. That’s the problem. He is not physical, he is not physical at all. I can’t figure him out.”
Disappointing for Leeds United
Costa spent the 2019-20 campaign on loan at Leeds from Wolverhampton Wanderers, and the deal was made permanent last summer.
Although the 27-year-old winger did well in the second tier of English football, he has not done much of note in the top flight this season.

According to WhoScored, the winger has made 13 starts and nine substitute appearances in the Premier League for Leeds this season, scoring three goals and providing three assists in the process.
During the 2019-20 campaign, the Portuguese winger made 33 starts and 10 substitute appearances in the Championship for Leeds, scoring four goals and providing four assists in the process, according to WhoScored.
Costa is a good winger, but the former Wolves man needs to step up his game.
