Writing in his column for BBC Sport, Garth Crooks has been discussing Ezri Konsa as he named his Team of the Week.
Konsa netted twice for Aston Villa at the weekend as they beat Everton, and as you can imagine, the brace from the centre-half was enough to earn him a place in Crooks’ team.
The pundit claims that the defender is proving to be a real threat in the box, and that’s something we simply can’t disagree with.
What’s been said about Konsa?
Crooks named the defender in his Team of the Week.
“It was an important goal for Villa,” Crooks wrote
“Emiliano Buendia may have got the header but it was Ezri Konsa with the final touch. If there was any doubt about who scored Villa’s first goal, there was no doubt about who scored the second.
“Konsa is proving to be a real threat in the opposition penalty area and was looking to complete his hat-trick as the game wore on.”

Konsa may be a defender first and foremost, but he’s becoming a real goal threat at Villa Park.
Yes, he only has two goals so far this season, but he’s often the first man to make contact with the ball from a set-piece, and we wouldn’t be surprised if he chipped in with a few more before the end of the season.
Villa have some set-piece takers with Matt Targett and Emi Buendia, and if they can find Konsa, the Midlands club may benefit from a few more goals.
